THE PLOT --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For thousand of years The Gods have toyed with the fates and lives of mortal females. From the tragic women who caught the eye of the King of Olympus, himself, to the beautiful maidens who incurred the jealous anger of the goddesses, to the outright foolish who incurred the gods' wrath for some slight or insult. Myths and legends are riddled with those whose existence has been uprooted and shaken by divine influence. Once, the gods of the Greeks were feared and respected. Once, they held the power to topple empires and shape the hearts of mortals. Once, merely looking upon the true face of a god could reduce a mortal to a cinder.
Many thought those days are past. But even in modern times Gods still walk, in mortal quise, gifting those who please them and punishing those who offend them. These people are called Cursed.
New York. Though known as the most expensive place to live in the United States, its also known to be the most heavily populated, with nearly ten million people living and playing in its highly urbanized boundaries. Getting an apartment is a hard, excruciating process in New York -- but getting a roommate who won't steal your stuff or kill you in your sleep and use your body as a work of art in their gallery at the Guggenheim is even harder. And that's just the common places.
How about a place where your neighbor turns into an oak tree whenever startled? Or where the woman who lives one the second floor might accidently turn you to stone?
Created by the King of the Gods, it is the only place in all the world that cannot be touched by the fickle divine. The only place outside of the influences of Gods. A soft spot where the supernatural is only just below the surface. And since the death of it's original owner it's been rented out to all manner of mythical creatures, from nymphs to muses to serpent haired gorgons and, most importantly, to Cursed, those women who have been blessed or punished by the gods.
So, welcome to the Godless Complex. Pets are allowed and you can paint the walls -- just don't make too much noise; you never know what might happen if you startle your roommate.
SUB PLOT It's been one year and one would be surprised how much has changed in that amount of time. Renovations have been done to the entire complex, including the formerly uninhabitted seventh floor. The new Cafe has opened up on the ground floor of the complex, offering service between 6AM and 10PM to the residents. Since the renovations it's started to seem the building is not all that it appears and strange things happen inside its walls. Including strange shadows that seem to be self animated. For the moment, these only remain as rumors and possibly some of the tenants joking around.
